Although RK Speedshop was established as a business in 2019, our team have been working on prestige and performance cars for a combined period of 50 years. Various family members have served their time working at major franchised dealerships working on a wide range of prestige cars from marques such as BMW, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes in the Midlands area. In fact, back in the day - Al Ditta was the only technician trusted to work on a dealer customer's Ferrari F40 - when cars like this were actually driven(!) not just wrapped in collectors storage facilities...Gradually private work took over and the family's passion for working on performance cars and specifically modified JDM tuner cars, meant the family garden was full of Skyline's and it was decided that it was time for the family to invest in stand alone premises, in order to maintain harmony with the matriarch of the family home!
Very soon through word of mouth, the family business consisting of the father Al Ditta and his sons, busy working on Skyline's, Evos, WRXs aswell as early German icons, such as M535is, E30 M3's and 190E Cosworths. This maintenance and tuning work was supplemented by importing specialist JDM models and soon complete car builds such as the world's first Carbon Red Evo rolled out of the RK Speedshop workshops. Nowadays as main franchise dealers focus on EV's and "replace opposed to repair" methodology, the skills which keep analogue performance cars running sweet are becoming scarce, which is why today the inherent engineering expertise at RK Speedshop is highly sought after and providing the cornerstone for the growth of our business.
We have progressively expanded and upgraded our facilities and our first workshop is used for for maintenance, upgrade and custom builds with the latest unit allocated to paint & restoration activity. In 2025 we are to supplement our workshop services with car sales, specialising in a select number of vehicles similar to those upon which we work and hopefully providing our clients with a valuable service.
